Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) organised a workshop on researching in Central Asia, lessons learned and future perspectives. The main objective of the workshop was to initiate and develop a discussion on the ongoing research efforts in Central Asia in the areas of employment, education, agriculture, nutrition, gender and youth development.

WIUT partnered with the International Security and Development Center (ISDC), the Leibniz Institute of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops (IGZ) and Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. The participants provided insights into their past and ongoing research efforts in Central Asia and illustrated how rigorous analytical and innovative methods can lead to high-quality academic output, robust impact evaluations and actionable policy advice.

WIUT is becoming a Transnational Research University of Excellence, paying particular attention to data collection, research methods and supporting the work of young local scholars.
